The Kandji web app has been updated, including the following improvements:

Assignment Maps

  • A new Manual Device Exclusions option has been added to ease troubleshooting Library Items assigned on an Assignment Map. When clicking a Library Item in a map in Edit mode, exclusions for specific devices for that Library Item can be added. These exclusions apply anywhere on the map where the Library Item is used, and the map will evaluate as if the Library Item is not within scope of the device(s). Any Library Items with exclusions will be highlighted on the map with a new badge, and a list of all items with exclusions is shown in the upper left corner of the map. Excluded items are also called out when using Device Lookup. Manual device exclusions are for troubleshooting purposes only and should not be used as a regular part of scoping logic.

  • Glimpses (the icons representing the installation type of a Library Item) are now shown in the Library Item bank and on the map

Library Items

  • A new Setup Assistant Library Item supports managing skip screens following OS updates or upgrades.

  • New options for configuring PlatformSSO or Kerberos for iOS/iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 are available in the Single Sign On Library Item.

  • The Software Update Library Item supports configuring software update settings for iOS and iPadOS using Declarative Device Management (DDM). Existing configurations for macOS are automatically upgraded to DDM declarations for devices running macOS 15+.

  • Additional Skip Screens for Wallpaper, App Store, and Safety have been added to the Automated Device Enrollment Library Item.

Other

  • Battery Health status for Mac computers with Apple silicon and iPhones is now available via the enterprise API, Device Details, and Prism.

  • Tags are now available in Prism.

Deprecation Notices

  • As of today, 9/18, Library Item Assignment Rules for use with Classic Blueprints are considered deprecated, but remain functional and are supported for customers with existing configured rules. Assignment Maps are the future of flexible scoping in Kandji, and a true end-of-life date for Library Item Assignment Rules will be announced in the coming months.

  • Starting on October 2, customers with no existing configured Library Item Assignment Rules will not be able to add any new ones and should use Assignment Maps for flexible scoping instead.
