Kandji Web App Release 2024.09.16

The Kandji web app has been updated, including the following improvements:

• Full support for enrolling and managing iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and macOS 15.

• Managed OS Library Items for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and macOS 15 will become available throughout the day.

• When Mac devices upgrade to macOS 15, Kandji will reinstall the following Library Items automatically, ensuring devices receive any new configurations embedded in these Library Items:

  • Gatekeeper;

  • Restrictions;

  • Single Sign-On;

  • System Extensions; and

  • WiFi (for most Library Items).

• The Kandji Agent Settings Profile will also be reinstalled when devices upgrade to macOS 15.

• Devices upgrading to macOS 15 with Auto Apps that are scoped that use System Extensions will automatically receive new supplemental profiles to prevent users from turning off System Extensions in System Settings.

Additionally, the following new Library Items and enhancements are available for customers to use in managing iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and macOS 15:

• Ability to disable MAC address randomization for macOS in the Wi-Fi Library Item.

• All references to "Apple ID" have been updated to "Apple Account."

• All new Skip Screen for Automated Device Enrollment.

• All new Restrictions, including those for Apple Intelligence.

• New Disk Management Library Item for macOS 15.

• New option in System Extension Library Item to configure whether or not users should be able to turn off MDM managed System Extensions in System Settings. This is defaulted to off for all existing Library Items.

• New Safari Extensions Library Item for iOS and iPadOS 18.

• Passwords and Calculator apps are available in the Home Screen Layout Library Item.

• Return to Service is supported for tvOS 18.

• XProtect malware upload configuration in the Gatekeeper Library Item.

On Wednesday, September 18th, the following additional new Library Items and enhancements will be available:

• A new Setup Assistant Library Item will support managing skip screens following OS updates or upgrades.

• All new options for configuring PlatformSSO or Kerberos for iOS/iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 will be available in the Single Sign-On Library Item.

• The Software Update Library Item will support configuring software update settings for iOS and iPadOS using Declarative Device Management (DDM). Existing configurations for macOS will also be upgraded to DDM declarations for devices running macOS 15+.
