The Kandji web app has been updated, including the following improvements:

New Enrollment Page

  • The Add Devices page has been renamed Enrollment. This new page consolidates settings for Manual Enrollment and the list of Automated Device Enrollment devices; the latter has an updated look and feel.

The existing separate list of Automated Device Enrollment devices on the Devices page is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.

Assignment Maps / Kandji EDR

  • Added support for multiple Avert Library Items and multiple Accessory and Storage Access Library Items on a single Assignment Map.

Tags

  • Tags used in Assignment Rules cannot be deleted so that scoping is not inadvertently affected. A new Info button on the Manage Tags window, which details where a specific tag is used in Assignment Rules, is now available.

Device Name Library Item

  • A new Model Name variable has been added that more accurately conveys just the device's model name: MacBook Pro, for example.

  • The existing Model Name variable has been renamed to Marketing Name, which includes the size and model year information: MacBook Pro (14-inch, Nov 2023), for example. Existing Library Items that were configured to use the Model Name variable will now show they are using the Marketing Name variable. To use the new Model Name variable, update existing Library Items.

  • New Assigned User First Name and Assigned User Last Name variables are now available.

  • The Primary Local User variable is now identified as macOS only. The Library Item will present a warning if you attempt to use it with other device families.

Other Improvements

  • "Apple ID" has been renamed "Apple Account" throughout Kandji.

  • Automatic SCEP renewals are now supported in the Ethernet Library Item.

  • Activation Lock Bypass Code views are now logged to a device's activity log.

  • You can now scroll through and copy script contents in view mode for Custom App and Custom Script Library Items.

  • Using the enterprise API endpoint to update a Custom Profile Library Item no longer resets the Library Item's Installs On setting.

  • Microsoft Entra ID SCIM integrations should now continue to show a user's first name.

  • We've ensured that devices will not try to enroll into deleted Blueprints.

  • Added an option to the Gatekeeper Library Item to control Gatekeeper malware uploads*.

  • Added support for Return to Service for tvOS*.

  • Added all new restrictions*.

  • Added a new Disk Management Library Item*, delivered with Declarative Device Management, and removed the ability to create new versions of the long-deprecated Media Access Library Item. Existing Media Access Library Items will continue to be visible.

*Applicable for customers testing Apple beta releases.
